In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to draw the catoons easily.
Drawing skills would help, as well as a tablet, though it’s not necessary.
Today we draw one of the most peculiar creatures in the world, Tasmanian Devil!
Before we get started, we have to prepare a rough sketch to be used in photoshop.
After that, scan the paper and transfer it to photoshop.
In this time, we use only 2 types of layers (except for a rough sketch layer). These are a Line layer and Calor layers. So we create a new layer and name it “Line” then tracing the rough sketch by using pen tool like below.
In the next stage, create a new layer folder under the Line layer in order to organize many colar layers in it. Create a new layer in it and name it “body” then paint colars. I choose devil’s body colar #3D3A38.
In the same way, we create colar layers and paint these. I use only 7 colars such as #373432, #2F2C2B, #A15842, #BB654B, #AF7E5B and #E4E4E4.
The most important point is that draw your cartoons twice or three times bigger than you really want to obtain. If you don’t have special Drawing skills, this method would make your illustration seems to be more stunning.
